The lodge has a private naturalist and vessel at your disposal for hire. The Alaska Sea Bright Lodge offers the TIDE RUNNER for hire as a Water Taxi and for Day Charters.
The 20-minute boat ride from Homer Harbor takes you to the Alaska Sea Bright, located at water’s edge in China Poot Bay, in the midst of majestic Kachemak Bay Wilderness State Park. The Lodge is bordered on three sides by the ocean. Across the small bay, 5,000-foot peaks jut up from the ocean floor adding to the majestic feel of this home. This 500-acre estuary is home to seals, otters, sea birds, eagles, all 5 species of salmon, and an untold variety of sea life. Half a mile from the home is a sand bar where, in July and August, at least 100 seals haul out. 1 mile away, Gull Island is home to 17 species of sea birds. Watch the tide change a phenomenal 30 feet every 6 hours. On a clear day, view St. Augustine Volcano 70 miles away.
This custom ,5-star, 2-bedroom, 1800 sq foot single-level, home is located on the bluff above the bay. Fully fronted in the grand room with windows to take full advantage of the visual feast, complete with a window seat. This is the perfect location to lounge and enjoy a cup of coffee with a great book. Even the books are provided!
The grand room sports a full vaulted ceiling of local cottonwood. The home is finished with an amazing collection of 10 hardwoods. The Kitchen is fully appointed. The dining area seats 6, with additional seating for 6 at the kitchen island. The bedrooms are located one at each end of the home, separated by the grand room which affords each bedroom privacy. Each bedroom has new queen mattresses and luxury linen, each with its own complete bathroom. The bedrooms are oriented to the view, what a place to wake up!
The front deck has a BBQ, deck furniture, and an additional dining table.
Further down the dock is a vintage fishing vessel Wheel House which has been converted into a waterside sauna. For an additional fee, the sauna can be scheduled for an incredible experience.
Located on the Wheel House dock is a tram to lift your luggage from the beach up the 20′ cliff to the house level.
100 feet away on the second dock, you will find The Top House, a studio-style cottage with sleeping for 2. It is set up with a small fridge, small cooktop, and a half bath with a potty and sink. This lovely cottage is available only to the guest of the home. There is outside dining on the deck, which is a very special experience… Watch the eagles soar past, and see the otters, seals, and seabirds right off the deck. At high tide listen to the waves lapping on the pilings…
Groceries…. Bring your own or for a fee have our expeditor fill your list and it will be delivered. Remember…you are in Kachemak Bay Wilderness Park the grocery is across the bay!
